What is the application?
If your Queensland driver’s licence was disqualified absolutely before 13 March 2002, you may be eligible to apply to the Department of Transport for the removal of your licence disqualification.
When deciding whether to remove the disqualification, the Department of Transport will consider:-
- Whether any demerit points have been recorded on your traffic history in the 2 years immediately before you applied to the Department; and
- Whether you have been disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence anywhere in Australia since you were disqualified in Queensland.
After making your application, the Department may choose to either remove your licence disqualification from a certain date or else may refuse the application. You will receive written notice of the Department’s decision.
If your application is refused, you will need to wait at least 1 year after the date of the Department’s written notice before you can make another application for the removal of the disqualification.
